Our Organization

PROBUDEN is a non-profit organisation of national and international scope, whose fundamental objectives are to promote and defend the intercultural dialogue, human rights, equal opportunities, Strengthening the employability of young people and solidarity and social inclusion. The main tool we use to achieve our fundamental objectives is the development and implementation of local / national and international cooperation projects.

The organization members have been involved as applicant, partners, and coordinators in over 120 successful events and projects in the past 15 years (both EU and non-EU-funded), having involved around 1500 direct participants in the activities. Our activities include international youth exchanges, voluntary service, VET internships, training courses, seminars, partnership’s cooperation, among others. In 2023 PROBUDEN has organized information sessions about European mobility opportunities and Human Rights related activities and workshops.

We are officially recognized as a Development NGO and a public utility organisation. Our NGO is dedicated to promoting values of activism, intercultural learning, human rights, social inclusion, healthy lifestyle, volunteerism as well as active participation among the youth we are working with. We believe that giving young people a chance to participate in international projects on any topic can make a huge difference in the way they develop on both personal and professional level. Considering the history and experience of our employees and members, we have a special interest in participating in projects that are related to inclusion, tolerance, freedom, creativity, diversity, and respect for human rights

Objectives

NGO Probuden pursues the following statutory objectives in its activities:

  • Promoting and supporting social initiatives in the fields of education, sport, culture, and youth.
  • Action for the comprehensive development of the local community.
  • Assistance to people with disabilities and the unemployed.
  • Supporting education for young people.
  • Countering social exclusion in all forms.
  • Building interpersonal bonds.
  • Development of civic awareness.
  • Support for measures to promote lifelong learning.
  • Support for actions to improve qualifications, professional skills, and educational level.
  • Cooperation with NGOs and institutions operating in Bulgaria and abroad.
  • Supporting NGOs – the so-called third sector.
  • Action to build civil society.
  • Action for the participation of young people in public life.
  • Supporting youth volunteering.
  •  Action to level up educational opportunities in general.
  • Elderly care.
  • Rural development measures.
  • Provision of services: employment placement, personal advice, or career guidance.

Our Team

Probuden’s staff reunites specialists and experts with different skills and competences, being that each of them has more than 20 years of experience in managing international projects, both as applicant, partners, coordinators. Several of our members have a solid experience and high competence in the management and coordination of European youth initiatives, namely in the frame of the former Youth in Action Program, Lifelong Learning Program, Europe for Citizens, European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus+ Program, guaranteeing a thorough preparation, guidance, and support to all the participants in such activities. 
Over the years our team has cooperated with such widely recognized institutions as the Council of Europe, Bulgarian Red Cross, and UNESCO. Since 2019 we have been working closely with VET schools in the implementation of Erasmus+ projects and managed more than 200 students’ trainings abroad.
